Many people stop eating carbohydrates believing it speeds up the process of weight-loss. What I can tell you is that eliminating carbs from your diet can give you quick but not lasting results. Why? Assume you eliminate carbs for a month. Of course, you're going to lose weight! Carbs retain water, so eliminating carbs only helps your body get rid of a lot of water, making the number on the scale go down for sure. Sooner than later, you start realizing that a diet that restricts carbs is boring and hard to follow. It will also make you feel weak and without energy. The quick initial weight-loss you had stops after short time and it becomes more difficult for you to build muscle mass. When you start including carbohydrates in your diet again, you gain the weight back easily. This is what we call the rebound effect. At this very point, your relationship with food begins to fracture. You start believing that food and especially carbs are to blame for your weight gain when it's not like that at all.

When it comes to losing weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. This means that you must consume fewer calories than your body needs. This is how you will start to lose fat. To calculate your caloric deficit, we need to consider that macronutrients and calories are determined by age, height, sex, physical activities, intensity of training in the gym and complementary activities. In other words, every person has different requirements for weight-loss and not every method for weight-loss works for every person. The first step is to calculate your caloric deficit. Only then you can start a work-out routine and complement it with a proper diet.
Not eating enough or not eating at all is not the solution!
